Schools are closed for atleast one week during Sankranti. Bhogi, Sankranti,Kanuma form the 3 core days of Sankranti. Sankranti is marked by Kite Flying, Murals, Jallikattu, Cock Fights, Village Fairs, etc., It is a truly rural festival with harvest festival coinciding. It also marks the start of Uttarayanam for Hindus.
Sankranti also marks the busiest season for new releases. This year, we have Ala Vaikantupuramlo competing with Sarileru Neekuevvaru. Both are doing well in the first week of release due to sankranti rush. need to see from next week onwards.
