It made perfect sense for PM Modi to skip Jan.6 meeting at Guntur. It would have more emboldened the anti-BJP campaigns of TDP.
PM Modi is now directly going to Kerala instead of stopping at AP and addressing meetings primarily because of the civil issues that might occur due to non-cooperation of sitting CM. The situation boiled down to a altercation with CM himself leading the campaign against Modi directly. Since it was a party meeting, CM Naidu felt that protocol need not be observed.
PM Modi wisely postponed the trip. It was ill-advised since there is no momentum in AP for BJP having failed to convey to public that most state schemes are Central Govt.Schemes but thats how States have always done it all these yrs and Centre never had a problem with that.
