The two accused purportedly had given the leaked question paper to the six students who were taken to a preparation camp in Bhubneswar.The Crime Investigation Department (CID) on Thursday arrested two more persons in the EAMCET paper leak case of 2016.
The accused people were Veleti Vasu Babu, a dean from the Chaitanyapuri branch of the Sri Chaitanya Junior College of age 50 years and Kamma Venkata Narayana Rao of 54 years age.
Rao was an agent who would publish and get admissions for Narayana and Chaitanya colleges,which are the most famous Junior Intermediate colleges in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana .
“It was found that Vasu Babu and Narayana Rao were in touch with Dr Dhananjay, Tauqeer and Dr Sandeep Kumar who were actually conducting preparation camps for the students with the leaked Eamcet medical question paper in Bhubaneswar during the analysis of Call Data Records(CDR)†said CID superintendent of police J. Parimala Hana Nutan .
The six students who were on preparation camp in Bhubaneswar paid Rs.35 lakh per head to know the leaked EAMCET paper such that scoring high marks and ending up with good ranks.
Throgh the investigation it was revealed that the students were taken to camp about 2-3 cities and given practice with the two leaked sets consisting of 320 questions with correct answers in 2016 medical EAMCET in TS.
On August 2, 2016,at a review meting Telangnaa CM KCR was informed by CID that the centre for the scam was Delhi and in total 34 brokers accused to sell the paper and also there were almost 200 parents who were in touch with the brokers to get the question papers.
The Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET-II) was conducted on July 9 and the results were declared on July 14. The examination was conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Hyderabad.When they got to know about the issue the exam was cancelled and a re-examination was conducted later.
