Shakambari festival also known as Ashada masa utsavam is a three day festival dedicated to Goddess Shakambari Devi at Kanakadurga temple in Vijayawada.Shakambari Utsavam starts on July 25th and ends on July 27th in this year.During the Ashada utsavam days, more than 3 Lakh devotees come to Vijaywada to visit Kanakadurga temple.During the festival,Goddess Kanakadurga is decorated with fruits and vegetables and also special poojas are offered.On the first day,July 25th Vinayaka poojas will start.The temple would be opened from morning 8:00am to evening 7:00pm.Due to Lunar Eclipse the temple would be closed from July27th afternoon 3:00pm and would be opened on July 28th morning 10:00am.
