Ramdas Athawale, Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale was in Andhra Pradesh on Sunday, October 17, 2021. He invited YSRCP party to join National Democratic Alliance (NDA) for better development of the state.
Many other leaders in BJP centre have asked Jagan several times to consider YSRCP entry into NDA. TDP has been seeking entry into NDA from long time. With the current GST structure, it is imperative politically for a state government to be on the right side of the central government. YSRCP has always helped the central government in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. Athawale said that state government will get more support in regards to infrastructure projects. Athawale was all praise for Jagan for meeting social welfare commitments of poorer and weaker sections.
Jagan, Naveen patnaik, KCR, Stalin have been maintaining distance from NDA though they have supported voting for NDA in several bills earlier. Jagan fears that getting into NDA will distance minorities votes from him. Christian vote is strongly in favor of Jagan but he does not want to lose muslim votebank which will distance itself when Jagan joins hands with BJP. In AP, BJP does not have any standing at this moment and is currently allianced with Janasena who has been viciously attacking YSRCP government.
If Jagan joins NDA, then what will TDP-Janasena do? They will not have the backing of central government then. What will happen to the Janasena-BJP Alliance. All know that congress will have no chance of rejuvenating itself in 2024 nor is there any chance of a third front. With Central government support and a possible tieup with BJP in 2024 assembly elections, TDP-Janasena will literally have no support base to bank on.
