Everyone said that Amaravati referendum will arrive in the polls and it arrived. TDP did not score in local body polls even in the Capital region.Across the state, there appeared strong opposition against Chandrababu Naidu. Even Janasena and BJP did not register any great success. Despite gaining good vote share, TDP hasnt been able to register wins.
This clearly shows that Amaravati is a topic which does not garner any interest for AP residents except TDP&affiliated parties. Repeatedly, this is coming out in public mandate in assembly, panchayat and recently municipal polls and very soon, mandal and zilla parishad polls.
People were fooled with the Amaravati real estate venture with huge graphics and lot of development being projected. If Naidu had completed even half of the projected development areas by 2019, he would have remained the CM but by deliberately not completing them to ask Public for another 5 years to build a capital, he failed in impressing people.
Local Body polls have passed referendum on Capital Fixation of TDP & allied parties like left and BJP which pushed for Amaravati. If anyone still carries the TDP agenda of Amaravati, they will face the same fate as TDP is very much clear. Its time that Chandrababu Naidu focuses on other issues pertaining to the state. People strongly believed that Amaravati was only one caste's development agenda and hence gave a strong blow to them with their vote.
