TDP, BJP, JS,Left's performance in the recent polls is clear indication that the issue of Amaravati is on the backburner for people. Noone is interested in the mega venture which benefits only one community. Chandrababu and team's intentions are very much clear to the people. Hence even after Amaravati questioned Guntur people why they are not supporting Amaravati, people did not care nor voted for TDP despite him telling them that it is their duty to help Amaravati.
TDP never got the message since like BJP believed in India Shining in 2004, TDP believed that it can win easily & even broke up with BJP & had secret alliance with Janasena. Not withstanding that defeat, it still kept harping on Amaravati using its systemic power, wealth to propogate lies that people are being deprived of mega opportunity. People did not care and once again in the local polls told TDP clearly that they do not care about Amaravati.
Many from TDP,BJP own huge parcels of lands in Amaravati and hence support the movement since it is beneficial to them only if Amaravati is developed. It is clear now that till YSRCP is in power, Amaravati will never be developed. So its best that TDP drops that agenda and takes it up only if it ever comes to power again. This issue shall relevant only as long as Chandrababu Naidu is around. He is getting old as well and his son has not matured to take over the mantle of the party. Chandrababu never believed in developing second rung of leadership and this has proven the main reason for the fall of TDP.
The recent municipal polls were a referendum on Amaravati since neither in Vijayawada or Guntur or Vizag did TDP put up a show. Atleast in Vizag, it is much better than in Vijayawada or Guntur.
