Civil Society always has been at the forefront in Disaster relief but this time, they are taking it on their chin despite knowing the risks.
Unlike other viruses which are carried by mosquito, this is a human transmission virus and hence social distancing is mandatory. Civil Society despite knowing the risks is moving out to feed the hungry.
We got this news from a well-wisher. Around 20 friends in Jayanti Jewlellers-Vajawat Ravi friends circle in Tanuku town in Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh are daily spending money from their own pocket to feed the hungry three times a day. These good samaritans know very well the risks of feeding when the virus can be communicated by anyone in the poor. Despite that, Indians believe in "Service before self" and have never let any poor go unfed in this country even in normal times.
During disaster, the civil society does not need to be reminded of its duty. They are always there. God bless such good samaritans who take the cudgels to do something instead of complaining in crisis times. They are not complaining that their businesses have been stopped. They are feeding people across the country.
Jai Hind.
