Durga Temple in Vijayawada has a Goshala near the entrance. Goshala has around 1200+ cows but most of them are in Tadepalli. Rest are in the Goshala near temple, roughly around 200-300 cows. In normal days, devotees coming in from across Andhra feed them on their visit to the temple.
Owing to lockdown, the streets are empty of people. Temple is shutdown for normal devotees. Barring those who come to goshala for milk, others are not coming. The cows which are normally fed regularly are now not finding devotees coming. The cows are hence eager to see donors buy Dana/crushed vegetables which is crushed and offered in a plastic bowl for donors to directly feed the animals.
Outside food is not allowed there. Only the Goshala provides the food.
